![]() Volunteers are required by the State of Washington Emergency Worker Program to provide their Driver License number and proof of vehicle insurance. ![]() This will be mailed to volunteers upon acceptance into the PHRC. Tuberculosis and Bloodborne Pathogens Training.This training can be accessed online at: National Incident Management System an Intro, IS-700, online training through FEMA.Introduction to the Incident Command System for Healthcare/Hospitals, IS-100.HC, online training through FEMA.PHRC volunteers are also required to complete the following trainings within the first month of acceptance: Volunteers may not be a current employee of King County in any capacity, (Career Service, TLT, STT, or contracted) or with any King County department Continuing education credits will be offered whenever possible during these 8 hours. Volunteers will participate in approximately 8 hours per year in orientation, training, and drills. Assisting provider in making referrals to other health care services as appropriateĭepending on the severity of the emergency secondary duties may include assisting with other support duties as needed.Recording treatment and comments on progress from patients for provider.Assisting provider in educating patients on facts regarding diseases, disease prevention, procedures and general health care.Interpreting health care provider’s diagnosis, recommendations and instructions.Interviewing patients, recording medical history and complaints by target language and translating into English.Performing oral interpretive services between medical staff and patients to facilitate communications due to language and cultural barriers.Translating written materials from English into target language.Medical Interpreter / Translator volunteers will primarily assist individuals and families during an emergency by providing services in the community such as: The PHRC is seeking Medical Interpreter / Translator volunteers to assist Public Health – Seattle & King County during an emergency in King County.
